I can turn three of the Hatchtown accessories with matching handles for you:
A neat pairing that I find somehow comforting in my wood-loving soul is making an Orfook handle and a Turned Wrap Gauge from the same piece of wood, side-by-side at the same time on the lathe. You can set them end to end and follow the wood's grain from one into the other. I have to turn a Nøstepinde from its own blank, but the wood species and decorative turnings etcetera will match the Orfook and/or Gauge.
When
placing your order, just be sure to mention that you want a "Matched
Set"!

An
elegant orifice hook - the handle is made up of multiple layers
of mixed American and imported hardwoods. The brass wire hook
looks fantastic. A hole in the handle's neck lets the spinner
hang the Orfook conveniently on the wheel.
Coming
to grips with popular demand -- those demanding didn't really
care for the "laminated look", wanting something classically
simpler. The Plain Orfook's handle is turned from a solid piece
of hardwood; anything from Hickory to Leadwood.
Photo: a flock of "single wood" hookies. Woods used, from the left: Cocobolo, Padauk, Purpleheart, Cocobolo, Cocobolo, and Cocobolo.
Note: Spinners are SO demanding! Both Orfooks are also now available with skinnier, stainless steel hooks made from orthodonture wire. I can get a really tight bend in this wire, thereby making a very small hook that'll fit into the smaller orifice of some wheels -- especially those antique flax wheels that seem so popular! The hook can also be longer than "standard" if your wheel requires. Please advise!

A
"Scandinavian Ball-Winder" -- create a center-pull ball
of yarn the low-tech, old-fashioned way. Fiber artists of every
persuasion appreciate this tool's portability! Some people call
them "dibbles". Turned from a single wood, my gouge
and chisel have creative minds of their own as the wood spins
at 2,000 RPM and the results are spectacular.
The No. 1 question we're asked more than any other = "How do you pronounce it?" Well, I'm not an expert, but I say it like "nõsta - pin - dah" and get by with the experts <G>. It helps if you sort of try to speak like a caricature of a Swedish sea captain. <ggggg>

Nøstepinde Instructions It's easier and faster than you'd think! Our Nøstystructions have gone international! They were translated into German and went out in a "supplement" that accompanies the German edition of "Spin-Off". Hey, no fair! How come us English-speakers don't get supplements with neat, extra "stuff" inside?????

As
of late January 2002: There are none of these rectangular
Wrap Gauges in inventory. And I have to say that it will
be MONTHS before I might be making up a new batch of them.
While you can put in an order, it would be with the understanding
that the wait might be so long that you'll forget you're waiting.
Laminated layers of native and exotic woods make this a tool that just feels good to use. Measure your yarn's "Wraps per Inch" and brag to your online buddies about how fine you're spinning these days! -- calculate sett for that planned tapestry.
The standard 1" gauge is supplemented by a 2" gauge on the flip side. The 2" gauge is very useful for measuring thicker, novelty yarns - or just for being more accurate (Hint: divide by 2 to get WPI).

Metric and custom "gaps" are available only with the new "Turned Wrap Gauge" -- see below.

Note: This gauge, the Turned
Wrap Gauge, IS available.
In coming up with a solution for the metricated set,
we stumbled onto another new tool for EVERYONE! Pictured here
in Birdseye Maple, the Turned Wrap has 2 measuring "gaps"
of 1" and 2" OR 2 cm and 5 cm. Turned in a solid (that's
UN-laminated) wood, these are especially nice with a matching
Orifice Hook (( they can be turned from the same piece of wood
))
