The Bad News: We are not accepting any new orders at this time. If you want to be e-mailed directly when we have again uploaded new pictures of made and available spindles, please send us a message now. It will help if you make the subject (caption) of your message read simply: |
We suggest using the order form in making a snailmail order and/or to most safely transmit VISA/MasterCard account information. Even if you're e-mailing your order (the best way!), having a filled out order form will preserve a "hard" record for you.
ORDER FORM --Link over to the order form. Set your printer for a "Portrait" or Vertical page -- using the usual "File"/"Print" option. The order form should print out as two (2) pages.
ORDERING: We do welcome telephone and snailmail orders,
but the absolute best way to get our attention is via e-mail.
We can discuss wood and whorl options etc.
PAYMENT: Personal checks and money orders received in advance and made payable to Hatchtown Farm in U.S. Dollars are, of course, acceptable. <G>
VISA and Mastercard are preferred because you do not actually make payment until I've made your "stuff" and we're ready to ship. This also gives you some leeway to change your mind via e-mail or phone -- add/delete items, etc. -- without the mailing back and forth of additional checks.
VISA/Mastercard are strongly recommended for international orders to reduce delays. We do not recommend e-mailing credit card information: We do not currently offer an internet secure transaction route and do not recommend that you e-mail credit card account and expiration information to us. Mail or phone it in -- our answering machine is secure. An option would be for you to use your credit card at the PayPal website (it is secure)
Having said that, a lot of our customers enjoy using the "James Bond Approach":
"Hide" the numbers in a story: "We have 4,056 sheep, 3,652 ewes due to lamb before 01:36 hours. We hope for 8,465 lambs to have arrived by June of 2002." Of course, you may "phone in" the particulars -- our answering machine is "secure".
DELIVERY: Please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery. Every effort is made to fill orders on a "first in/first out" basis. There is almost never any inventory of anything hanging around -- your tools will be made to order to your specifications. We will contact you for instructions in the event your order will be delayed.
RETURNS: We want you to be happy! Return any tools you find unacceptable for any reason within two weeks of your receipt. Please enclose a note advising the reason for the return and indicating if you require replacement or a full-value refund; We will pay shipping on replacements.
TERMS OF SALE: F.O.B. Bristol, Maine Shipping Charges and any Loss or Damage in Transit are the Buyer's Responsibility.
METHOD OF SHIPPING: To the contiguous U.S.A.:most retail
orders (2 lbs. and under) are shipped via Priority Mail (U.S.
Post Office). Larger orders will go out United Parcel Service
(UPS - through a local "agent" Package Express, Damariscotta,
ME). Please advise us of any problem you may have with either
method.
To Alaska and Hawaii: orders will be shipped via Priority
Mail.
International Orders will be shipped via regular mail --
U.S. Post Office. Any/all foreign import duties and the like will
be the consignee's (that would be you!) responsibility. There
is a "Small Packet/Air" rate available to most countries
that is VERY reasonable, although insurance for such shipments
is not available. We can "discuss" options
via e-mail before shipping. We will declare package contents as
"wooden spinning tools". Please advise us of
any change to that wording that might smooth your order's passage
through your Customs/Import Regulations.
INSURANCE: Except as noted, we automatically arrange insurance with the carrier (either U.S. Post Office or UPS) on the full value of your order + shipping charges on your behalf. The cost of this insurance is included in our shipping charges.
