Robin Hansen is our Maine guru of nøstepindes. She's the only lady we know who has a pot full of nøstepindes! She has a number made by various American craftsmen as well as a few from Scandinavia (even a reproduction of one in a museum over there!) Geographically, relative to us here in Bristol, and in terms to which any fiber-artist can relate, Robin lives just the "other side of Halcyon". <gg>
Robin is the author of three well-known knitting books:
Something else -- Baltic Independence Mittens - a knitting pattern for only $5.00

Whistling With Olives - 54 Things to do at Dinner Besides

You know, like building architectural structures using knives and forks, hanging spoons off your nose or (I'm just guessing here) whistling through olives (Ah! Well, how do you get the waiter's attention?).
As a parent, I shudder at the memory of the clanging and clashing as one of Aaron's flatware creations collapsed onto the tabletop at the restaurant in Old Sturbridge Village. Well, Robin's theory is that since you're not going to beat them (it's against the law in most states!), you might as well join in the fun! Her experience is that the good times soon infect the whole room. Within minutes, all of your fellow diners will be attempting to stick spoons to their noses too!!
