So…remember that last post…the one where I said it had stopped snowing and all was right with our world? Well, that was all very temporary! When we woke up on Tuesday, it was snowing again. We must not have been paying attention when the weather guy was predicting another 6+ inches! It continued to snow through much of Wednesday… Where's the WeatherSow? Rain is more common these days, colder nights have produced some frosty mornings and oh! the leaves are turning — it’s a great year for color! The rhythm of the farm has changed from the frantic pace of summer — moving fence & sheep often every other day, caring for temporary residents like the roasters and pigs and continually hauling water [....read more] Phew! It’s been a crazy frantic couple of weeks! I thought so many times about posting but would fall asleep on the couch, wake up in the wee hours of the morning and go to bed. Not very productive… On Monday the 3rd, I finished packing & shipped off our first year’s Fiber CSA shares. I was excited… but anxious at the same time. At one point [....read more] Ewes happily munch Spring grass after a long winter of boring old hay. The sheep are now officially “on pasture” after a week of carefully reacquainting them to the green stuff. It takes a little while to get their rumens adjusted to rich, wet feed after 6 months of eating dry hay.
